Fingerprint Technician
Fingerprint Technicians are responsible for classifying and identifying fingerprints, as well as processing all prisoners arrested by BRPD officers and other agencies through Live Scan. Fingerprint Technicians’ duties also include recording prisoners’ information, collecting fingerprints, and taking photographs.“If you have currently passed a Civil Service test with a 75% or higher in this position, you must complete the BRPD Intake and BRPD application. EARNINGS
As of Sept 10th, 2022, a new, Fingerprint Technician can earn up to $28,224 after one year.
LISTED BELOW IS A BREAKDOWN OF ANNUAL EARNINGS
Base starting salary | $24,279 – annually |
After six months from the date of hire (3% merit increase) | $24,900 – annually |
After one year from the date of hire (3% merit increase) | $25,724 – after one year |

Additional pay, annually with listed education:
- 80 + hours of college – $750.00 annually
- Bachelor’s degree – $2,000.00 annually
- Master’s degree – $2,500.00 annually
Shift Hours
- Days | 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Evenings | 3:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. (additional $0.50 / hour)
- Nights | 9:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (additional $1.00 / hour)
- Fixed shift with rotating days off
