Resources

If you have questions, concerns, or are looking for more information, we’ve got you covered. If your goal is to join the Baton Rouge Police Department, our goal is to do our part to set you up for success. Whether you’re just getting started or have already begun the application process, we have the resources you need to be prepared.

Prep Class

Our Recruiting Division hosts prep classes to help applicants feel more prepared for the most challenging parts of the hiring process – the physical assessment and board interview. During the prep class, applicants can practice the 1.5-mile run, one minute of sit-ups, and one-minute of push-ups, and staff will provide tips on how to improve physical fitness scores. Applicants will also have an opportunity to attend an interview workshop to receive information and training about how to improve their interview skills.

Talk to a Recent Recruit

When we asked some of our recruits what type of resources would be most helpful to them and future recruits, they said, above all, an opportunity to talk with others who had recently gone through the application process. Want advice on what to eat before the physical assessment? Not sure what to wear to the interview? Just ask a recent recruit.

Type your name, contact information, and question into the form below and we’ll connect you with one of our trusted recent recruits who is dedicated to providing good, sound advice. Our goal is to provide our potential applicants with the information needed to be prepared for the application process, from start to finish. This resource is simply a way for us to extend a helping hand and connect you with peers who can say, “Been there, done that, and here’s what you need to know.”
